Alkane Resource is an Australia-based gold and antimony producer with three operating mines across Australia and Sweden
We have merged with Canada-based Mandalay Resources Ltd to become a diversified gold and antimony producer with operations and major projects in Australia and Sweden.
Wholly owned operations include Tomingley gold mine in Central West New South Wales, the Costerfield gold and antimony mining operation in central Victoria, and the Björkdal gold mine in Sweden.
We also own the Boda-Kaiser Project, which represents a genuine prospect for a bulk-tonnage gold-copper development, in Central West New South Wales.
Alkane is ASX (ASX:ALK) and TSX (TSX:ALK) listed with headquarters in Perth, Western Australia.
Tomingley
Tomingley, an open pit and underground gold mine 25km southwest of Dubbo in New South Wales, celebrated 10 years in 2024. The operation has entered a new era as we extend mining to new resources south of the original deposits.
Tomingley has a mining plan extending beyond 2030 and the ability to extend resources further. We continue to advance gold exploration projects in the surrounding tenement areas.
Gold production in FY25 was 70,120 ounces, and the operation is heading towards a planned 100,000 ounces per year in FY27.
Björkdal
The Björkdal gold mine lies within Sweden’s Boliden mining district, approximately 28km northwest of Skellefteå and approximately 750km north of Stockholm. It has operated since 1988 – initially open cut (1988 – 2019), then underground (since 2008).
The operation’s mine life currently extends beyond 2035, and resources continue to grow from sustained regional exploration.
Gold production in calendar year 2024 was 42,323 ounces, and total resources at 31 December 2024 stood at 1,987koz contained gold.
Costerfield
Costerfield is an underground gold and antimony mine lying approximately 50km east of Bendigo in central Victoria. Mining has occurred since 2006 from several deposits within the Costerfield mining district.
The current life of mine extends to 2031. A sustained exploration program continues to grow resources, with orebodies open at depth and additional near-mine targets in the district.
In calendar year 2024, Costerfield produced 43,346 ounces of gold (Au) and 1,282 tonnes of antimony (Sb) – a gold equivalent of 54,805 AuEq ounces.
